Vancouver with Oscar

One of the great things about living in the Seattle area is that you're about 2-3 hours away from a lot of really great things. To the east is the German city Leavenworth, to the south is Portland and the beautiful Oregon coast, to the west is the beautiful Washington coast, and to the north is Canada. Every year but one we've taken an anniversary trip going in one of those directions. We call them mini-moons. On our first anniversary, we grabbed our passports and took off for beautiful Vancouver Canada.

One of our first stops was Stanley Park. Unfortunately a lot of it was closed for safety issues, but it was still really fun to bike around.

We also went to the Vancouver aquarium. It was really nice. It's bigger and better than the Seattle aquarium.

For dinner we went to the restaurant at the top of Grouse Mountain. It's pricey, but the food is excellent and your trip up the mountain is included with your reservation. There's a great view from the top, and we even took a small sleigh ride while we were waiting.
This is me hugging a bear in the gift shop.

This is me eating at the fabulous restaurant.

A shot of me with the stunning view in the background.

The ski slopes at the top of the mountain.

and more gorgeous views.

And just before heading back we went to the Vancouver science center.
