Tillamook, Oregon Coast, and Rockaway Beach

We stayed in Portland with Charlie and Julie Hansen, good friends of my parents that they knew from our years in Napa, CA. We woke up early the next morning and took off for Tillamook cheese factory. We nearly ran out of gas! We had a decent drive from where we were, our low gas light flashed, and the only gas station on that road didn't exist in spite of our GPS's instructions. We were so releived when we finally saw a gas station. Luckily we did make it to Tillamook safe and sound. Here we are posing as the cow and the farmer.

Here I am in front of the main area where they cut and package the cheese.

These are the big vats of milk they use to make ice cream.

And here's Oscar in front of the Tillamook boat.

This is merely the beginning of the gorgeous sites we had no idea were in store for us. After the gorgeous Washington coast, I didn't think there could be anything nearly as beautiful in Oregon. But I was dead wrong. The Oregon coast was even more beautiful! The turquoise waters of the ocean on that sunshiny day contrasted with the beauty of the rocks and hills absolutely left me speechless.

Here we are on Rockaway Beach.

Don't you love the oh-so-creative name of this restaurant?

We stopped at a state park that also had some incredible views.

You could see the pretty hills.

The pretty lake.

And the endless ocean.
